IPTV Player One for Android TV and Google TV

Get it on Google Play, on the TV itself

Open the Google Play Store app on your Android TV or Google TV, search for IPTV Player One and press Install. Type the full name: there are other apps called IPTV One and One IPTV Player, and they are not ours. Ours is published by First Concepts and needs Android 7.0 or newer.

That is all. No sideloading, no download codes, no Play Protect warning, and updates install themselves the way every other Play app does. It is the same listing as the phone app: one package for phones, tablets, Android TV and Google TV.

Your own playlist: M3U or Xtream Codes

Enter the M3U link, or the server address, username and password of your Xtream Codes account, exactly as your provider sent them. Stalker and MAC portals are not supported. Adding a large playlist has become a good deal faster, and the progress bar keeps moving instead of standing still for minutes.

IPTV Player One is a player only. It contains no channels, content or subscriptions, so you bring your own playlist from a legal source, as an M3U link or an Xtream Codes login. The guide Is IPTV legal? explains where the line runs.

What the TV layout does

Live TV is sorted by group and by country, and search covers your whole playlist. Movies and series remember where you stopped, so one press continues instead of starting over. The home screen is yours to arrange: keep the rows you use, hide the ones you do not, and put Top 10 in your country, Recently added, Highly rated, In 4K or Continue watching where you want them. The TV guide shows now and next. Favourites are kept apart for live TV, movies, series and radio, and radio gets moving artwork instead of a still picture.

The parental lock puts groups behind a PIN, so the children cannot open them with the remote.

Formats your TV does not handle on its own

The app plays .mkv, HEVC and 4K streams. You pick the audio track and the subtitle track, set the subtitle size, and correct lip sync when a stream needs it.

One subscription for your phone and your TV

The first 14 days are free. The trial starts the first time you play something, not when you install, and it asks for no account and no payment details.

After that you subscribe in the app through Google Play: $1.99 a month or $6.99 a year, renewing until you cancel it in the Play Store under Subscriptions. The subscription follows your Google account rather than one device, so your phone, your tablet and your TV are covered at once. There is no lifetime option in Google Play, and Google handles cancellations and refunds. Phone and TV together

Have the Android phone app as well? It casts live TV, movies and series to a Chromecast, a Google TV or an Android TV on the same Wi-Fi network, and you keep browsing on the phone while it plays. On the TV itself there is nothing to cast: you use the app with the remote. How casting works across platforms is on the Chromecast IPTV player page.

Which TVs, and which not

Android TV and Google TV devices running Android 7.0 or newer. Fire TV, Roku, Samsung Tizen and LG webOS are not supported, and we would rather say so than let you find out after installing. Apple TV has its own app in the App Store, and the same player also runs on Windows and Mac.
