No app is perfect, and we think you should be able to look up what is known instead of having to puzzle it out yourself. This page tracks the known issues in IPTV Player One, each with its fix or current status. Once an issue is resolved, you will see it on the What’s new page.
The Mac app cannot find a Chromecast
macOS asks apps for permission to use the local network, and without it the app cannot see your Chromecast. After an app update macOS can also lose that permission, so casting suddenly stops even though it worked before.
How to fix it:
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.
- Turn the switch for IPTV Player One on. If it is already on, toggle it off and on again.
- Quit the app completely and start it again.
If it still does not work, also restart your Chromecast; it sometimes drops off the network until it has rebooted.
The Mac app will not open after downloading
On first launch macOS may say the developer cannot be verified. Right-click the app and choose Open; macOS remembers your choice and opens the app normally from then on.
Casting across VLANs: no automatic support
Many home networks with a separate TV or IoT VLAN block the traffic casting needs. The app has no automatic workaround for this; it has to be configured in your router or firewall:
- Discovering the Chromecast: the app finds cast devices via mDNS, which normally stays within one network. Enable an mDNS repeater or reflector in your router (port 5353) between your computer’s VLAN and the TV’s VLAN.
- Playing the stream: the Chromecast fetches the stream from your computer on TCP port 47810. Open that port in your firewall from the TV VLAN to your computer’s IP address. The app uses this fixed port precisely so you can create a firewall rule for it.
If everything is on the same network, there is nothing to configure.
4K stutters or keeps buffering
A 4K stream needs a high, stable delivery speed. If the picture stutters or keeps buffering, check in this order:
- Test your own internet speed and use a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi where possible.
- Try the same movie or series in a lower quality (many playlists offer the same title in HD).
- If only that one source keeps stuttering, your playlist provider is delivering the stream slower than the video needs. No player can compensate for that; take it up with your provider.

Frequently asked questions
Why does the Mac app not find my Chromecast?
Usually the Local Network permission is off. Turn it on via System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network. If it is already on, toggle it off and on again and restart the app.
Does casting work when my TV is on a separate VLAN?
Not out of the box. Allow mDNS (port 5353) between the networks so the Chromecast can be discovered, and open TCP port 47810 from the TV VLAN to your computer so the TV can fetch the stream.
Why does 4K keep stuttering or buffering?
Check your own network first and try the same title in a lower quality. If your playlist provider delivers the stream too slowly, no player can compensate for that.
