Install it on the TV, add your own M3U link or Xtream Codes login, and watch live TV, movies, series and radio with a TV guide, favourites and 4K, all from the Siri Remote. You enter the playlist on your phone through a short code, so there is nothing to type with the remote.

Get it from the App Store on your Apple TV
Open the App Store on your Apple TV, search for IPTV Player One and install it. That is the whole route: Apple TV does not allow apps from anywhere else, so there is no sideloading and nothing to enable first. Updates arrive by themselves.
It is the same App Store listing as the Mac app, which means one subscription covers both as long as they use the same Apple Account.
Your playlist, entered on your phone
Typing an M3U link, or a server address with a username and a password, using the Siri Remote is the most painful thing a television asks of you. So the app does what Netflix, YouTube and Spotify do: the Apple TV shows a short code with a QR code, you open iptvplayerone.com/playlist on your phone, and you fill in your playlist details there. The TV picks them up and carries on. Prefer to type on the TV? That option stays.
IPTV Player One is a player only. It contains no channels, content or subscriptions, so you bring your own playlist from a legal source, as an M3U link or an Xtream Codes login.
What you can do from the couch
Live TV is sorted by group and by country, with search across your whole playlist. Movies and series remember where you stopped, so pressing play continues instead of restarting. The home screen is yours to arrange: drag the rows, hide what you never watch, and keep the ones you do, like Top 10 in your country, Recently added, Highly rated, In 4K and Continue watching. The TV guide shows now and next. Favourites are kept apart for live TV, movies, series and radio, and radio gets artwork that keeps moving so a static logo cannot burn into the screen.
The parental lock puts groups behind a PIN. Those groups stay hidden until the PIN is entered, whoever holds the remote.
Formats tvOS does not play on its own
The app plays .mkv, HEVC and 4K, not only the formats tvOS handles by itself. You pick the audio track and the subtitle track, and you set the subtitle size to something readable from the couch.
One subscription for your Mac and your Apple TV
The first 14 days are free. The trial starts the first time you play something, not when you install, and it asks for no account and no payment details.
After that you subscribe through the App Store: $1.49 a month or $5.99 a year, renewing until you cancel it in your Apple Account. One subscription covers your Mac and your Apple TV on the same Apple Account, and it will cover iPhone and iPad as soon as that app is in the App Store; it has been submitted, and until Apple approves it the iPhone and iPad version runs as a public beta on TestFlight. The other screens
The same player runs on Mac from the Mac App Store, on Windows, on Android phones and tablets and on Android TV and Google TV. Those apps can also cast to a Chromecast with subtitles that stay in sync, which is the answer for a television that has no app of its own.

Which Apple TV models does it work on?
Apple TV 4K (every generation) and Apple TV HD, running tvOS 16.4 or newer. Older Apple TV boxes cannot install apps from the App Store, so the app does not run there.
How do I install it on my Apple TV?
Open the App Store on your Apple TV, search for IPTV Player One and choose Get. Apple TV does not allow sideloading, so the App Store is the only route, and updates then arrive by themselves. It is the same App Store listing as the Mac app.
Do I have to type my playlist with the Siri Remote?

Which playlist formats are supported?

Can the Apple TV app cast to another TV?
No, and it does not need to. On the Apple TV the app plays on the television itself. Casting is what the Windows, Mac and Android apps do when you want to send a stream to a Chromecast, a Google TV or an Android TV.
Does the app play 4K on Apple TV?
Yes. The app plays .mkv, HEVC and 4K streams. How smoothly 4K runs also depends on your network and on the stream your provider delivers.
IPTV Player One contains no channels, content or subscriptions. It is a media player for playlists you legally own or are licensed to use. Using it for pirated content is not permitted.
